"I met with an inmate who shared how God used the Life Recovery Bible in her life. Almost everyone in her pod had used drugs, and they had offered them to her as well. She refused several times, praying for strength to stand each time. The 3rd time she was offered she thought, “Why not?” And just then as she was thinking that thought, the officer called her name and told her to step outside. She was scared, did they know? She stepped out and the officer handed her the long awaited Life Recovery Bible she had requested. She then thought, “How could I use when God cares this much!”
We cried and praised God together for His faithfulness. She told me she returned to her cell with a renewed commitment to recovery. She did her best to share God’s Word with the women in the pod, testifying about what God had done for her. We talked about what God had done and also how important it is for her to walk daily in the Truth and in the Spirit. It is unlikely that she will be handed another Life Recovery Bible next time she is offered drugs, but she will always have this moment to remember to stand strong and run from temptation.
